Recog­ni­tion and Col­lec­tion of Mir­a­cles

At the close of Guru Purn­ima, I felt espe­cially inspired to rec­og­nize the pres­ence of divine energy within my aware­ness and per­cep­tions, of course, but even more per­son­ally con­vinc­ing, in ordi­nary daily life. This sankalpum was rein­forced when other par­tic­i­pants related sto­ries within their daily lives that qual­i­fied as evi­dence of such to me. Lis­ten­ing to them I went “wow!

I con­fess to being a mir­a­cle junkie and via Swami’s bless­ing, the recip­i­ent of a mirac­u­lous heal­ing. I would like to prac­tice open­ing myself to the mir­a­cle of every moment toward a real­iza­tion of life itself as a spir­i­tual expe­ri­ence. While that seems quite lofty/​grandiose at present, I feel that col­lect­ing fur­ther evi­dence from our group would advance my recog­ni­tion of what life is try­ing to teach me as well as for­ti­fy­ing my faith and patience. Toward such goals for all of us, I pro­pose that we record and share unusual events in our lives in the form of sto­ries. As Nityaananda noted at GP, our minds may dis­miss some of these remark­able events/​“omens”, as merely coin­ci­dence, luck, etc. Per­haps a super­nat­ural influ­ence would be appar­ent to oth­ers read­ing someone’s story, which might alle­vi­ate their doubt.

So just for starters (and this is rough), per­haps we can cat­e­go­rize these mir­a­cles these as “every­day” and “spir­i­tual”.

Broadly, I’ m think­ing “worldly” mun­dane” mir­a­cles might include:

Spir­i­tual mir­a­cles might include:

Med­i­ta­tions, Dar­shans, Dreams, Visions, Heal­ings that any­one feels they have digested and are ready to share.

I would love this to be a group project. I would feel hon­ored to be one of those who ini­ti­ate and “curate” the “mun­dane” mir­a­cle col­lec­tion and hope there will be inspi­ra­tion for oth­ers to adopt the exalted posi­tion of curat­ing the spir­i­tual mir­a­cles.

I see the pos­si­bil­ity for a col­lec­tion of sto­ries of Swami Kalesh­war stu­dents evolv­ing into a book/​video with poten­tial to inspire to all of us and also draw other spir­i­tual seek­ers to this path.

It was such a “wow” moment to hear everyone’s expe­ri­ences of the divine energy. We really need this kind of shar­ing in our lives, don’t we. It is so help­ful and impor­tant for us to share with each other, to record these expe­ri­ences not only for our­selves, but also for those just begin­ning this spir­i­tual path and all who come after us, as you men­tioned.

I think it’s a great idea for us to con­tinue shar­ing the mir­a­cles, signs in Nature, and reflec­tions we’ve had since GP. It is so inspir­ing and help­ful to see how Swami, Baba, the Mother, the Lin­eage are flow­ing through our lives, teach­ing and reflect­ing to us in seem­ingly ordi­nary ways through hints, ani­mal syn­chro­nisties, the wind, words some­one speaks at just the right moment, and so many, many other ways. I’m sure we all have had the expe­ri­ence of spir­i­tu­al­ity being “evap­o­rat­ing, fleet­ing sub­ject,” and have seen in our own lives how the maya can play and have us think a mir­a­cle or expe­ri­ence of the divine was just in our mind, that we made it up, and to explain away a super­nat­ural event with natural/​logical rea­sons. It’s all the more rea­son for us to record these moments indi­vid­u­ally and col­lec­tively to learn from them and help wash out doubt, and grow our faith and patience, as you said. While I under­stand the dis­tinc­tion you are mak­ing between expe­ri­ences in daily life and expe­ri­ences in medi­a­tions, visions, and dar­shans, I humbly offer that all of the ways the Mas­ters and Divine show them­selves through reflec­tions in Nature and ener­getic dar­shans are sig­nif­i­cant, pow­er­ful, and exalted. They are dif­fer­ent chap­ters, if you will, to use a book anal­ogy, though I just want to affirm all of the ways the Divine is present for you, for me, and for every­one as deeply impor­tant pieces of our lives as spir­i­tual peo­ple. Thank God for all of the ways!

Your help inspir­ing and encour­ag­ing oth­ers to share their sto­ries and expe­ri­ences would be won­der­ful! Monika shared recently that it’s really all of our respon­si­bil­ity to share what we expe­ri­ences with Swami and the divine for future gen­er­a­tions. We had hoped this forum would serve as an inspi­ra­tion, group evi­dence (*smile*), and space for deep­en­ing our under­stand­ing of how the Divine is always present and shows itself in many dif­fer­ent ways. I hope we all will use it (*waiv­ing to every­one read­ing*). ) What we share together here could be a next step for future book or col­lec­tion of sto­ries (for any­one who would sub­mit some­thing they write on this pri­vate forum to be poten­tially included in a broad pub­li­ca­tion).
